Members of the Property Unit are responsible for the safe and secure storage, record keeping and disposition of property and evidence submitted to them by the Sheriff's Office and Narcotics Task Force. Property is stored for a variety of reasons including items that are found or recovered, evidence, and for safekeeping. The Property Room is also responsible for the collection and destruction of prescription medication as part of Operation Medicine Cabinet, which encourages the community to drop off unused or expired medications, keeping them from being abused or accidently ingested as well as protecting our water system from the untreated waste.
