Attempted Murder Update

Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781-4547Date and time of incident: 11-4-17, Approximately 8:30 AMPlace of Occurrence: In the creek bed off Main Street, CambriaVictim Information: Adult MaleSuspect Information: Kellen Christopher Trimble, 32, CambriaOn 11-4-17, the Sheriff's Office received a call from a citizen in Cambria who had spotted the suspect from the previous night's attempted murder in Cambria. In that incident, Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of an assault in a transient camp off Highway 1 near Cambria Drive in Cambria. Two men at a transient camp began fighting when the victim says the suspect made threats to kill him and then hit him in the face with a hatchet. The victim received a minor laceration. The suspect ran off and a search was conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies but the suspect was not located.
The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Kellen Christopher Trimble of Cambria.
This morning, Trimble was seen walking along Main Street in Cambria before heading down to the creek area under the Highway 1 bridge. A State Parks Ranger assisted with the call, located Trimble in the creek bed and detained him. Deputies then arrested him without incident and Trimble was booked into the County Jail.
Trimble is facing charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
