The San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Department provides young men and women, 14-21 years of age, the opportunity to experience law enforcement first hand through the Sheriff's Explorer program. Explorers can determine the extent of their interest in a law enforcement career as they are trained in many areas of law enforcement, including building searches, weapons training, weaponless defense techniques, CPR/First Aid, and many more activities.
The Explorer program builds character in the youth of San Luis Obispo County as it teaches them leadership, citizenship, personal fitness and personal responsibility. The Explorers will have many opportunities to apply their training as they participate at community events, Explorer competitions, and Sheriff's Department functions. |
