Due to the extent of the victim's injuries suffered in a plane crash in San Luis Obispo on 6-24-13, the Coroner's Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is unable to make a positive identification. As a result, coroner's investigators will utilize a Department of Justice lab for DNA analysis to confirm the identity of the pilot. Results are not expected for several weeks. An autopsy is planned for later this week.
