Per AT&T, the outage began at 10:58 AM today. The issue affects approximately 405 landlines in the Oak Shores, Bradley, and Lake Nacimiento areas. At this time, residents with 805-472 numbers are unable to make calls outside of the 805-472 exchange, including calls to 9-1-1 or the Sheriff's Office non-emergency dispatch line. However, they can still call other 805-472 numbers.
Cellphones are not affected. If you reside in the impacted areas and experience an emergency, please use a cellphone to call 9-1-1.
AT&T is aware of the issue and is actively working to restore service. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
We urge residents to check in with neighbors, especially those who may not have access to a cell phone, and help ensure they are aware of the outage and have a way to call for help if needed.
Please do not rely on a landline for emergency or non-emergency calls until this issue is resolved.
